My passion for taking black and white photographs, primarily of architecture and landscapes complements my love of travel. Many of my favorite photographs are from Paris, a city that draws me back. In summer 2002 I traveled to Namibia, Africa for a photo safari. Photographing the incredible wildlife was quite a departure for me. I had a solo exhibit of those photos at Art Divas Gallery in October 2002. I have recently photographed the islands of Crete, Maui, and Oahu. My photographs are in private collections in Taos and across the country. Susan Chandler

African Eye My primary camera is a Leica M6 Rangefinder with which I generally use a Leica Summicron F/2 50 mm lens. The quiet shutter of the M6 combined with exceptional lenses and top quality film and processing allow for detail to be brought out with superior clarity. I also carry a Leitz F/2.8 21 mm super wide-angle lens and a Leitz F/2.8 135 mm lens, with which I captured "African Eye ", the half-face of an elephant charging our vehicle. My pocket Leica zoom is invaluable in the outdoors because of its size and weight. I then enjoy enlarging my prints in my darkroom.
