A plein air painter, Warner feels there is nothing like being out in naturein the beautiful southwest
and painting the mother earth. Her goal is to capture some essence of the elements: the wind moving
through the trees, the warmth of the red earth, the coolness of the shadows. Influenced by mythology
and the narrative the elements of her paintings sometimes take on personalities of their own. Piņon
and juniper trees and sagebrush and chamisa bushes all seem to be entities in the paintings, as if
they are traveling up the slopes on their way somewhere. |
